The Carrot, The Egg, and The Coffee Bean

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling.

It seemed that, as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans.

She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes, she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?"

"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," the young woman replied. The mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water - but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened! The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" the mother asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?" Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong but, with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit but, after a death, a breakup, or a financial hardship, does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavour.

If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?

"A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble."

Allah SWT berfirman, "Jikalau sekiranya penduduk negeri-negeri beriman dan bertakwa, pastilah Kami akan melimpahkan kepada mereka berkah dari langit dan bumi." (QS. Al-A'raaf: 96)

Dan para musafir itu percaya bahwa...
"....supaya ia mengetahui bahwa janji Allah itu adalah benar, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mengetahuinya.” (Al-Qashash: 13)

Brownies Ubi "Choco Pandan"

Assalamu'alaikum...
Fiuuh.. the third promise is a simple and easy  brownies ubi "choco pandan" recipe.

Karena saya beli ubi cilembunya 1 kg tapi saya hanya pakai 200gr. Sisanya masih cukup banyak. Hmm karena itu, jadilah brownies ini. Cuma agak dibedakan sedikit agar tidak bosan.
I was trying to make two layer of cake. It was my first time and i didnt make it perfectly. I mean, the shape. Hehehe
But, the taste is (maybe) good enough.
Here it is.

Bahan:
1. Tepung terigu 50 gr
2. Baking powder 1/2 sdt
3. Telur 3 butir
4. Gula pasir 100 gr
5. Ubi 200gr
6. Pewarna pandan
7. Dark Cooking Chocolate 200gr
8. Mentega 150 gr

Cara membuat:
1. Kupas kulit ubi, kukus, haluskan. Bagi ubi menjadi dua bagian.
2. Lelehkan mentega. Bagi menjadi dua.
3. Mentega bagian pertama dilelehkan dengan dark cooking chocolate.
4. Masukan lelehan coklat dan mentega ke dalam bagian ubi yang pertama. Aduk rata.
4. Mentega kedua yg sudah dilelehkan diaduk dengan bagian ubi yang kedua. Aduk rata.
5. Mixer telur dan gula dengan kecepatan tinggi selama 5 menit. Bagi adonan menjadi dua bagian.
6. Masukan bagian adonan telur pertama dengan lelehan coklat dan ubi. Aduk.
7. Masukan bagian adonan telur kedua dengan ubi bagian kedua dan teteskan pewarna. Aduk rata.
8. Masukan adonan ke dalam cetakan dan panggang selama 10 menit dengan suhu 180 derajat celcius dengan api bawah.
9. Keluarkan adonan dan tuangkan adonan kedua.
10. Panggang kembali selama 30 menit atau hingga matang.

Brownies Ubi Cilembu

Assalamu'alaikum..
My second promise is the recipe of brownies ubi.
This brownies was suddenly made by me for my niece. He said that he got craft homework. I dont get it why the craft homework is make a cake. Hahahaha
Forget it, now let's check what we have to prepare for making this simple and easy brownies ubi.

Brownies ubi ini menggunakan ubi cilembu yang kadar gulanya cukup tinggi, sehingga takaran gula pasir bisa dikurangi ya. Brownies ini bisa menggunakan almond/kismis/chocochips/tidak ketiganya. Sesuai selera saja :)

Jangan lupa panaskan microwave terlebih dahulu.

Bahan:
1. Ubi Cilembu 200gr
2. Telur 4 butir
3. Dark Cooking Chocolate 200gr
4. Mentega 150gr
5. Coklat bubuk 50gr
6. Tepung terigu 75gr
7. Baking powder 1/2 sdt
8. Gula pasir 75gr
9. Almond slice 1 ons (copp 1/2 ons almond)

Peralatan:
Kertas roti
Microwave/oven/kukusan

Cara membuat:
1. Kupas lalu kukus ubi hingga matang. Haluskan.
2. Lelehkan mentega dan dark cooking chocolate. Sisihkan.
3. Masukan lelehan coklat ke dalam ubi yang sudah dihaluskan. Aduk rata hingga mengental.
4. Campurkan tepung terigu, coklat bubuk, dan baking powder.
5. Mixer telur dan gula dengan kecepatan tinggi selama 5 menit. Matikan.
6. Masukan lelehan coklat ubi ke dalam adonan telur. Aduk rata.
7. Campurkan tepung terigu dengan diayak. Aduk rata.
8. Masukan almond cincang ke dalam adonan. Aduk.
9. Siapkan cetakan yang sudah dialasi kertas roti. Masukan adonan.
10. Taburi almond slice.
11. Panggang dengan suhu 180 derajat celcius selama 40 menit atau sampai matang.
12. Wait and ready!!!

Rainbow Puding

Assalamu'alaikum..
Im back with all of my promise :)
I've to post some new recipes in here.
The first is rainbow puding.

Seperti biasa, slogan resep resep saya adalah simple and easy. Jadi bahan bahannya mudah dicari, gampang masaknya, enak rasanya, dan puas masaknya :D

Untuk puding ini, bisa menggunakan susu murni (plain milk) atau susu kental manis yang sudah dicairkan ya. Saya menggunakan plain milk. Takaran gula secukupnya saja, jangan terlalu manis.
Dan pembuatannya dibutuhkan kesabaran, ketelatenan. Biar hasilnya sempurna :)

Ini dia, resep rainbow puding yang simple and easy :)

Bahan:
Agar agar 1 pcs
Plain milk 900cc
Gula pasir 100gr
Pewarna makanan (pandan, merah, dan biru)

Cara membuat:
1. Larutkan agar agar dan plain milk
2. Aduk aduk dan masak hingga mendidih
3. Masukan gula pasir, aduk rata
4. Setelah tercampur rata, matikan api.
5. Bagi agar agar menjadi tiga ke dalam mangkok.
6. Beri 2 tetes pewarna makanan ke tiap mangkok dan aduk rata.
7. Siapkan wadah penuh es dan tempatkan cetakan ditengahnya
8. Masukan beberapa sendok puding warna merah (pilih urutan warna paling bawah sesuai selera)
9. Diamkan beberapa saat, hingga atasnya mengental.
10. Tuangkan dengan sendok warna lainnya, tunggu hingga mengental. Dan lakukan tahap 9 dan 10 hingga puding habis.
11. Diamkan dan masukan kulkas.
12. Ready to eat!!
